Many thanks to the 111 faculty who have completed our survey on faculty teaching and learning needs. There is still time to add your ideas. Please check your email for our survey invite. We will report out some of the results next month.

Benefits of In-person Classroom Learning
What are some benefits of in-person classroom learning, according to the research literature? Check out these resources:
|
|
|
-
Sitting in clusters in the physical classroom improves academic performance (Losonczy-Marshall & Marshall, 2013; Perkins & Wieman, 2005; Smith e al., 2018).
-
The more students interact with one another in the classroom (e.g. Think-Pair-Share), the higher the overall academic performance of the class (Mazur, 1997).
-
Simple rituals in the physical classroom contribute to better executive functioning (Hobson et al., 2017; Ozenc & Hagen, 2019).
-
Body language, even down to the smallest gestures, can create a feeling of belonging for students, enhancing the learning experience (Marsh e al., 2009) and helping students re-build their bandwidth (Hrach, 2021; Verschelden, 2017).
