LET'S PLAY BALL!

Our very own church league softball team is hard at work, and they're ready for you to see them play! Made up of 19 FBC folks, the team plays games from now until early June at the Millbrook Exchange park on field #2, located at 1905 Spring Forest Road. The games are either at 6:45pm or 7:45pm, depending on the day. We hope you'll make plans to go out and support our team!

SAVE THE DATE!

The annual Children's Music Celebration will be next Wednesday, May 3, at 6:30pm in the fellowship hall. We'll have more details in next week's issue of Rose Window Weekly. Please join us!
HOSPITALITY AND HOUSING SUMMIT

CBFNC will be hosting a one-day summit at Trinity Baptist Church on Saturday, April 29, from 8:30am4pm. The Embracing Our Neighbors Hospitality and Housing Summit serves as a call to embrace our neighbors as our friends by following the best practices of community engagement, listening, learning, and empowering local stakeholders. This day-long summit will feature speakers, networking, and lots of fellowship. All CBFNC congregations and friends are invited to participate to learn more about creating a table of welcome. Our church will be receiving an award for the work that we do in our community through Housing All!

WINTER DONATIONS

The clothing ministry is preparing for more building maintenance on our space, and in the meantime, we are only accepting spring and summer donations. We will keep the congregation updated in the coming weeks and months for the appropriate time to resume giving winter donations. We really appreciate the continued support for our clothing ministry!

APRIL MISSION PROJECT

In April, we are collecting women’s personal hygiene items. These items are not covered by Medicaid and are always needed at both our clothing ministry as well as Oak City Cares. You may put your donations in the marker drawer in the Lewis Lobby cabinet anytime before the end of the month. If you have questions, please contact Cara Lynn Vogel.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING LISTENING SESSION

If you're a resident of Wake County, you know that the affordable housing crisis in our city has reached an all-time high. As a church, we are doing what we can to make a difference with Housing All, our emergency assistance fund that helps members of our community with rental and utility assistance. But what can we do to make a broader impact in our community? How might our church be a part of the solution that creates a more sustainable housing network for all of our neighbors? When the Dream Team polled community leaders during one of our listening sessions last year, affordable housing was one of the biggest needs they addressed for our city. One Wake is a non-partisan, multi-racial, multi-issue group of religious congregations, associations, and other non-profits in Wake County trying to make a difference with this growing issue. In partnership with One Wake and Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, we will be hosting a listening session in our Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, May 2, from 78:30pm. You're invited to come and discuss ways that we might partner together with other churches to make a difference with housing in our city. Please help us spread the word and save the date! For questions or further information, email Leah.

TEACHERS NEEDED
FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School is July 17–21, from 9am–12 noon, and we have two remaining teaching positions to fill. If you are interested in leading a recreation rotation for 1st – 5th graders, please contact Lynn as soon as possible. A curriculum is provided and Lynn will round up the supplies you need. Whether you’re retired or have flexibility in your work during the mornings of this week, a good time is guaranteed. Thank you for considering serving in this way!

REPLACING YOUR
FLAT SCREEN TV?

If you are replacing a 50” or larger flat-screen smart TV that is still in working order, we would be happy to receive it at FBC as a donation. Most of our classrooms are not equipped with monitors for use with PowerPoint or to stream content from the internet. If your TV is 50” (diagonally) or larger, has full working inputs, and a remote, we will find a home for it in a classroom. We even have a dedicated volunteer TV-hanging crew (Charles Petty and Jerry Dudeck) that will mount it. If you have extra HDMI cords and/or you are removing the old wall mount, we would be happy to receive those as well. Please contact Wayne Hager, Church Administrator, before you bring your donation to the church. Thank you!

APRIL CENTERPOINT

Centerpoint on April 26 will conclude our presentation on the spiritual applications of the Enneagram, an ancient tool for self-awareness and personal growth. The program is being led by Sam and Melody Harrell, who were CBF field personnel in Kenya and now live in Hillsborough, where Sam is the executive director of Africa Exchange.

If you are not able to join us in person, we encourage you to join us virtually. We will begin at 6:15pm with a prayer time, and our program will follow.

If you were not able to join us last week for the first session, either in person or via Zoom, you can watch a recording of the program here.
