Cornwall Public Library Newsletter February 2022
From the Director's Desk...
Most people get to take a deep breath in January - after the holidays - and relax a little bit. Not me. Not that I am complaining, but it seems that January is when it gets administratively busy here at the Cornwall Public Library. I am responsible for the CPL's portion of the NYS Annual Report for Libraries, with its request for tons of statistics. Additionally, I am working on the 2022-23 budget with the CPL's Finance Committee. It takes a lot of time and consideration to go through the previous year's budget line by line and estimate what we will need to spend next year. This is no easy task and makes me grateful for my undergraduate degree in accounting (I traded one sort of bookkeeping for another when I became a librarian). Happily, I know that all of this hard work will pay off, not only for me but for you too. When I am finished reporting and budgeting and the Board is finished reviewing and approving, we will have a budget to present to the voters that demonstrates the important and valuable work we do in providing resources and services to this great community.

Library Strategic Planning
Let us hear from you!

We are always thinking about ways to keep the library relevant in a changing world and serve our Cornwall community better. To be successful on both fronts, we want to know your thoughts. Therefore, please consider filling out a short survey that will help us help you.

The survey takes about 2 minutes to complete, and will be available until Feb. 28th. Want some added incentive? Those who complete the survey will be entered into a prize drawing for a Barnes & Noble gift card, courtesy of the Friends of Cornwall Library.

Thanks in advance for all your helpful input to make this library even better!
And the winner is...
Mary McKenna!
Congratulations to Mary for winning the raffle prize - a free personal KonMari consultation - at the KonMari virtual program on January 6. The program included patrons from many RCLS libraries, making Mary's win all the more special and "sparking joy" for the whole Cornwall community!
