National Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day is this Saturday, February 17th! On this day we celebrate, honor and encourage random acts of kindness in our community. Simple acts of kindness are contagious, and the collective power of kindness can change our attitudes towards one another and our sense of well being. When we are KIND, we inspire others to BE KIND, and it creates a ripple effect that spreads outwards.

By adopted resolution, the City is an official “City of Kindness,” and is committed to fostering a culture of kindness among City government, schools, businesses, residents, and visitors. We encourage you to participate in helping to spread kindness in Solana Beach!

Solana Highlands Project Update

The Solana Highlands Project is quickly moving into the grading phase and this will require large quantities of dirt being exported offsite. Starting today, it is anticipated that up to 35 loads of dirt will be trucked offsite everyday (Monday through Friday) for the next two months during this first phase. Most of the loading onto trucks will be done onsite, however, there may be some queuing of trucks on Nardo that could temporarily impact traffic and parking. Proper traffic control and safety monitoring will be conducted throughout this phase. We ask that those impacted be patient throughout the process.

Safe Solana Beach

Safe Solana Beach is a collaborative effort involving the community, local businesses, the City of Solana Beach, and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. This initiative enables law enforcement to address community safety issues in real-time. Built on a technology that supports community policing, the Sheriff’s Department approach encourages community involvement to enhance the overall quality of life. Safe Solana Beach provides residents with an opportunity to partner with the Sheriff's Department to address public safety concerns in their neighborhoods by selectively sharing video feeds. Together, we make Solana Beach a safer place to live, work, and visit.
