Dear PCUM family,

The world in recent years has become such a fractured place. We've all seen and experienced it. When we hurt or disappoint each other, we tend to retreat further and further behind self-protective walls. Rather than reach out to overcome and work through differences, we take the easier route of associating only with those who are pleasant or like-minded. One by one, as a result, relationships that have genuinely mattered to us can be left unattended. Eventually, we become more and more isolated from each other, and this world becomes that much more broken.

American author, spiritual leader, and political activist Marianne Williamson, co-founder of the Peace Alliance and founder of Project Angel Food, a volunteer food program serving people with HIV/AIDS, believes that forgiveness, not being right, is our only real hope. Williamson once said:

"Until we have seen someone else’s shadows, we don’t really know who they are.

Until we have forgiven someone else’s shadows, we don’t really know what love is."

In Christ's peace,

Pastor Greg
