March weather is unpredictable. Warm up with barbeque!
City Barbeque -a Branch favorite- will be the location of our Wednesday, March 23rd restaurant fundraiser. Our fundraiser is all day, from 11 am until closing, so you can enjoy lunch or dinner: dine in, delivery, or carry-out. Be sure to use code FundA when you place your order.
Details are below. Don't forget to share this information with your family and friends.
Our fundraiser is all day, so make sure to order for lunch and/or dinner! City Barbeque Downers Grove is located at 1034 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove
- For an online order to count toward our fundraiser, you must apply code FundA prior to checkout at citybbq.com/order or in the City BBQ app. Once you enter the code, you must click the red + button to apply the fundraiser code to your order.
- Online orders must be fulfilled—i.e. picked up—on the date of the fundraiser in order to be eligible: Orders can, however, be placed in advance for fulfillment on March 23rd.
- Online orders must be placed at City Barbeque Downers Grove to be eligible: orders placed using your code at any other location will not count toward your sales.
If ordering in person, present the flyer or social media post with code FundA visible, either by phone or printed copy.
You may not pass out or distribute flyers on City Barbeque property.
Our total fundraising proceeds must be $500 or more to receive our 20% of the proceeds from eligible sales.
- The percentage of sales is based on food, beverage, and bottled sauce sales. Gift card and non-sauce retail purchases are ineligible, as are catering orders, delivery orders, orders placed via third-party delivery services, and sales tax.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Children are our future. Schools don’t just teach facts. They demonstrate and encourage students to think for themselves. The last thing our kids need is “thought police.” It is encouraging that the Pulitzer Prize winning book Maus, a nonfiction book in the style of a graphic novel that was banned by the McMinn (TN) County Board of Education, is now in Amazon’s Top 20 sales chart.
A board member stated that the book was banned for language (It contains the word “damn.”) and nudity (It has a drawing of a nude dead mouse.). Similar arguments are being made to “protect” children from learning aspects of our country’s past and present that might make them uncomfortable. The US has not always gotten it right. Our children need to know that. They should take that knowledge as inspiration to create a better future. Support our teachers by attending school board meetings to be a voice for reason and truth.
