From the Court to the Sky: How Basketball Taught Two Brothers Entrepreneurial Success

Basketball is about more than just dribbling, shooting, and passing the ball. It teaches lessons that can be applied to all aspects of life, including entrepreneurship. Tyler and Gary Raney are an excellent example of this. Tyler, a junior at Byng, and his brother Gary, a senior at Byng, have played basketball for as long as they can remember, starting competitively in the second grade. Basketball practices keep them busy, but not too busy to start their own business: T&G Drone Services.

BUSINESS IDEA WORKSHOP RECAP

On February 7th, the Conduit Initiative held its first workshop of the year: a Business Ideation Workshop led by Matt Stephens. Participants learned about market research, product/service analysis, and crafted business model canvases. The workshops aim to support local entrepreneurs in starting businesses and leveraging technology.

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES: BRIDGING WORKFORCE GAPS IN ADA

Ronda McNatt, Director of Employment Services at Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma, addressed the AJF Board meeting. She discussed the recently opened Goodwill Employment Services Center in Ada and outlined the array of services it provides. Goodwill Industries is bridging an essential gap in the community by facilitating increased workforce participation.
