February 9, 2024
Greetings!
We thank everyone who participated in our annual meeting. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in the coming year. In this email we are including the proposed "Welcome Statement" that was revised after hearing from friends and members of the congregation. We encourage your feedback over the next few weeks.
Sunday, February 11 – Transfiguration Sunday
Come and worship with us at 8:30 am, 9:45 am, or 11 am. This week we will install all those who serve on our Congregation Council. This week we also need a reader at 9:45 am and a crucifer at the 11:00 am service. Thank you!

Souper Bowl Sunday
Vote for your favorite team (the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs). Our youth will be holding soup bowls after each service to collect your financial donations. All the money will be given to the Lamb Center to feed the hungry.
Educational Opportunities on Sunday at 9:45 am
Faith Formation, Confirmation, High School, and Table Talk will meet this Sunday.
Shrove Tuesday – February 13
We still need some help as we host a Pancake Supper and Redeemer Renaissance Art Exhibit from 6 pm to 7 pm. At 7 pm we will gather in Fellowship Hall to "Bury the Alleluias." We will then proceed outside to burn the palms from last Palm Sunday. The palms will be ground into ashes for the next day.

Ash Wednesday – February 14
Services will be held at 12 pm and 7:30 pm. The evening service will include a dinner in Fellowship Hall at 6:30 pm. We thank the Congregation Council for hosting the meal.

Proposed Welcome Statement
Pastor Kessinger and Pastor Wullenweber wrote articles in the February newsletter that explains the purpose of the Welcome Statement and the process we have used to develop a statement that we can live into at Redeemer. Once you have read the proposed statement, please reach out to either of the pastors or to the task force members to let us know if our revisions have helped to clarify who we are and who we hope to reach. All comments will be shared with the "Building Koinonia" Task Force. Thank you!
"You are welcome here. At Redeemer, we give praise and honor to Jesus Christ who calls us to love unconditionally. We embrace the wonder of God's creation and preach a gospel of grace for all. We invite people of all races, ages, backgrounds, orientations, identities, abilities, and family configurations to come and worship with us. Come and be a part of our life and ministry."
