Lenten Study begins Feb 15th

Join Mother Susan this Lent in reading Amy-Jill Levine’s Witness at the Cross: A Beginners Guide to Holy Friday.

We will meet Thursday mornings from 9-10:30am beginning February 15 in the Adult Education room. Each week will explore one chapter through the eyes of witnesses to Jesus’ crucifixion: bystanders & scoffers, the other victims, the soldiers, the beloved disciple, the women, and Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus.

You can purchase the book on Amazon or order from your local bookstore.

Safe Church In-Person Training

Please see the attached article and the link to register for Safe Church training offered by the Diocese. Many of the ministries of the church require us to be trained in safe church. If it’s required for you, I have probably contacted you, but if you have questions as to whether or not you need safe church training, please ask. For example, all vestry members, altar guild, church school, pastoral care visitors, small group leaders, lay eucharistic visitors, anyone holding a key to the parish that requires you to be in the building anytime other than a Sunday morning, are required to be safe church trained. If you are wondering if this applies to you, please ask Mother Susan or myself. Thank you.

Property Team at Work

The Property committee, or at least two members, have been hard at work. Last week, Tom Hogan made a small repair to our sump pump. This week Donna Blue-Tobin has been hard at work repairing the walls of the narthex. We’ve also had an electrician installing lighting outside above the handicap ramp. He also repaired a switch in the Bay room so all the lights are now functioning. Thank you everyone for your hard work.

Last Sunday's Sermon

by Mother Susan

I want to begin this morning by rehearsing where we are in the church year and where we are going.

We are in the season of the Sundays after the Epiphany. This is the fifth and next week will be the last. An epiphany is a revelation, an a-ha that shows us something here-to-for unknown or unrealized. In this season much is revealed about God in Jesus.
