In July 2022, Sage Growth Partners released a market report entitled “Hidden Crisis: The Medicare Enrollment Maze."* They had conducted a survey which revealed the confusion experienced by Medicare beneficiaries when navigating the annual enrollment process. More than 1,110 Americans ages 64 and older were surveyed. To recap:
- 80% incorrectly identified the components of Original Medicare
- 69% were unable to correctly define a Medicare Advantage plan
- 63% felt overwhelmed by Medicare advertising
- 58% don't even consider making a change to their existing plan
