Your Initial Cookie Order is Due Friday

Hello Troop Cookie Managers & Leaders,

If your troop is placing an initial order, that order is due to in the Smart Cookies system by 11:59p on Friday, January 14.

You’ll need to make sure you, as a troop volunteer, have access to Smart Cookies. If you haven’t registered for the 2023 year, check your email for an email from noreply@abcsmartcookies.com. Click the link in the email and register. If you can't find that link and know you are not logged into Smart Cookies, email cookies@gsksmo.org ASAP so we can set you up prior to deadline.

You also need to collect orders from girls. We sent a Family Cookiegram a few days ago to remind your families; our Order Tracker worksheet was included.

If you haven't yet, it's time to set the deadline for your families. You want to give yourself enough time to meet your initial order deadline of 11:59 pm on Friday, January 14. Here's a few things we advise you share / call out to your families:

  • Share the Family Cookiegram by clicking and sharing the link above

  • Share the Order Tracker Worksheet by clicking and sharing the link above

  • With options for a girl to sell cookies, it can sometimes be confusing on what parents / caregivers should record: They should only count and record anything from the paper order card and the packages sold via Smart Cookies using the girl delivered link. These are the orders they had to approve for their Girl Scout in the system. They should also count and record Cookie Share orders from the paper order card and girl delivered link. NO DIRECT SHIP cookie orders, including Cookie Share packages purchased via the DIRECT SHIP link only should be recorded and turned into you for the initial order.

Collecting orders on the Tracker worksheet and sending out a communication to all your families will save you time and make your entry process much easier.

Now that you have collected all your girl-delivered orders from families, it's time to place your initial order
in Smart Cookies

Smart Tips

  • If you pre-ordered Gluten-Free Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies DO NOT ENTER these in your initial order. Your order will be entered for you.

  • Enter all of your girls' orders first, then look at your extras and add booth cookies if you’re doing booths and/or additional sales

  • Order enough cookies to get you through Monday, February 14; your local cupboard may not be open until the week of the 14th.

Additional News & Notes

Bling Your Booth is Back for the 2022 Cookie Season! This contest is open for in-person and virtual booth sales for troops and Indy Girl Scouts! Check out all the details, dates to enter and the prizes now.

Bank of America Deposit Tickets - If you bank with Bank of America and want to make your deposit with the teller, you must have deposit tickets. You must submit your request for deposit tickets if you wish to deposit with the teller instead of the ATM and your troop card by Friday, January 28 using this form to request.

News about Adventureful Cookie Shortage - We have learned that some of our volunteers have seen posts on social media about a potential cookie shortage. This news only impacted councils who use Little Brownie Bakers. We use ABC Bakers and have been assured we are good to go. We are also happy to report that as of Friday... Little Brownie has a plan and are now working to take care of any shortage they thought they would have. Feel confident that your Girl Scouts can continue reaching out to customers and working toward their cookie goals. We will always communicate with you if we hear / anticipate any shortage. You can count on open and transparent communication from us along with a plan. No news directly from us means all is good!

Sharing Social Media Links - We have received a few reach outs about girls sharing their social media links. With the support of their caregivers, girls can share their social media links to local Facebook groups / pages. We do ask that Girl Scouts follow the guideline of being a sister to every Girl Scout. If you don't live in a neighborhood, don't post to that group. If you don't live in a community, don't post in their local groups. So for example, your Girl Scout lives in Overland Park, her link shouldn't be shared in a Liberty group.

If you have questions about any of the above topics or need support, please reach out to your service unit's Product Program Manager or email us at cookies@gsksmo.org.

We are always here to support! Thanks for all you do and for placing your initial cookie order by Friday, January 14 no later than 11:59 pm.
