Support the Nonprofit SEAT Act
We have a very time-specific special request. The Nonprofit Association of Oregon invites you to join us in endorsing the federal Nonprofit Stakeholders Engaging and Advancing Together (Nonprofit SEAT) Act. Last year, many Oregon nonprofits joined over 700 organizations across the country in endorsing the Nonprofit Sector Strength and Partnership Act. The Nonprofit SEAT Act is the same bill with a new name to be reintroduced in the 118th Congress.

The bipartisan Nonprofit SEAT Act will:

  • Establish a White House office on nonprofits to ensure that our sector and its work are visible at the highest levels of government;

  • Create an interagency council and an advisory board with diverse representation from the sector to ensure that decision makers understand the needs and expertise of nonprofits;

  • Provide regular nonprofit workforce data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics – data that other industries already receive;

  • Streamline fundraising registration across state lines;

  • Improve the federal grant process; and

  • Increase access to national service and expand volunteerism.
To show Congress that the nonprofit sector is united behind the Nonprofit SEAT Act, please, take 1 minute to show your organization’s support by 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 9th.
Please don’t hesitate to be in touch with the Independent Sector policy team with any questions.
