REMEMBERING

In my remaining weeks with Resurrection as your Rector, I desire to recall some of the wonderful memories and experiences you have shared with me and my wife Debbie.

One of my favorite celebrations with you happens as we have celebrated the Feast of St. Francis and the blessing of the animals close to the first weekend of October. Bill Carle has made sure this experience is part of who we are at Resurrection. Remembering God’s creation, God’s love and mercy, and the awesomeness of placing humankind over creation is so wonderfully expressed in coming together to bless our animal companions.

Know I will forever remember these experiences. It is my prayer that this tradition will continue and hope more people will participate in the future.

Search Committee Update
FIRST MEETING HELD

The Search Committee held its first meeting last night on Thursday, June 23. After initial prayer, the Committee did introductions, followed by some personal reflection questions. Chair Jim Gilligan provided an overview of the search process and timeline.

The first phase is "Planning" which involves the creation of a parish survey and assessment of the congregation and its desires with the end product being a Parish Profile.

The second phase is the actual "Search" where the Committee will receive names of candidates and conduct interviews.

The final or third phase is "Selection" when the Search Committee will discern and present its recommendation to the Vestry. The Vestry will then discern and make a final decision regarding the Call to our new Rector.

The Search Committee will have its next meeting on Thursday, June 14.

Members: John Biggs, Janeece Buckner, Rich Conn, Jim Gilligan (Chair), Carol Middleton, Bill Noone, Joe Owen and Lisa Twitty.
