Dear Residents –

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and, in Orangetown, we are fortunate to have the National Alliance on Mental Illness Rockland (NAMI). NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. For more information about NAMI, please click here.

This week, staff from the Orangetown Department of Parks and Recreation and my office met with Joe Allen, Director of the Boulders Community Fund, and Mike Greco, the new Community Liaison, to discuss having the first ever “Orangetown Night” at Clover Stadium, formerly Boulder Stadium. We don’t have all the specifics worked out yet, but when we do, you will be the first to know. So, mark your calendar for August 10th and stay tuned for more information in the coming months.

Tomorrow is the first Saturday in May and the Kentucky Derby, also known as the Run for the Roses! Mother Nature is looking good, so get out and enjoy those Kentucky Derby parties or head up to Clover Stadium and take in the exhibition game against the NYPD. Tickets are still available here.

Whatever you do, make sure you have fun!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny
