NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL FAMILY CAREGIVER MONTH
National Family Caregivers Month is recognized and observed every November to draw attention to the many challenges facing family caregivers. It’s a time to thank, support, educate, empower and celebrate more than 50 million family caregivers across the country.
Domestic violence is a common cause of traumatic brain injury for women in particular, who constitute the majority of victims. It is important to remember that there also exists an inclusive spectrum of people who may have traumatic brain injury from domestic or other types of relationship-related violence. To raise awareness about domestic violence and the correlation with traumatic brain injuries, BIALA/LA Chapter of United Spinal sponsored and participated in Walk a Mile Mandeville that benefited Safe Harbor.
