Notice of Hearing The Derry Township Board of Supervisors will reconvene the public hearing in Conditional Use Application No. 2022-06 on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 6:00 pm in the main meeting room of the Administration building at the Derry Township Municipal Complex, 600 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA.

Parking Restrictions

The Derry Township Board of Supervisors has authorized two amendments of two ordinances in parking restrictions which have been established on the south side of Spring Hill Drive from the convergence of the two single lanes to a two-lane roadway, to point 170 feet east, and in certain streets of the Briardale area. These restrictions are forthcoming and residents should expect the parking restriction regulations to be enforced within the upcoming months.

The Derry Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for Part-Time School Crossing Guards. 2023 Spring Street Tree Planting Program

The Township of Derry is planning to apply for twenty free trees through the Tree Pennsylvania 2023 Spring Bareroot tree planting programThe Township would like to make these free trees available to homeowners in Derry Township for planting along the streets within the public right-of-way. If you are a homeowner in Derry Township and would like a free tree planted along the street at your house, please contact Marisa Weldon, Public Works Department, at 717-533-2057, option 4. Please call on or before January 27th, 2023. To review and learn more about this program, click this link.

Tax Association Information

As of Wednesday, December 28, 2022, the Tax Association Office is permanently closed. Regarding the 2022 Fourth Quarter Local Service Tax (LST) remittance, please be advised that the 2022 Fourth Quarter LST payments should be remitted to the

Derry Township Tax Association at the following address: 610 Clearwater Road, Hershey, PA 17033.


Local Service Tax and Occupation Tax will

be collected by the Keystone Collections Group 

(866-539-1100) starting January 1, 2023. Real Estate taxes and Township street light assessments

will be collected by the Dauphin County Treasurer’s Office (717-780-6550), beginning January 1, 2023.

PA State Police Museum History Lecture

Saturday, February 04, 2023, 10:00 am-12:00 pm


On May 2, 1905, Senate Bill 278 created the Pennsylvania State Police. Over the past 118 years, 102 Troopers have died in the line of duty. On February 4, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm,

retired State Police Sergeant Carl Harnish will offer

a presentation on the circumstances surrounding the line-of-duty deaths of Trooper Robert Lapp in 1972

and Troopers Paul Almer and Wayne Bilheimer in 1989. The program includes a tour of the Museum at no charge. The gift shop will also be open. This program is free to the public and will be held in the Museum’s All-Purpose room. However, space is limited to 60 attendees. Those interested should contact us at

Hershey Area Neighbors and Newcomers Club (HANNC), will meet at the Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave, Hershey at 10:15 am on Thursday, February 9th. Their Guest Speaker is John Marietta. He will talk about Pennsylvania trivia from A to Z, adding humor along the way. John is a retired Colonel from the US Army and is currently an adjunct history instructor at York College of Pennsylvania. HANNC meets on the second Thursday of the month from September to May. PA School Climate Survey

The Office for Safe Schools of the Pennsylvania Department of Education offers the PA School Climate Surveys (PSCS) to school entities in the Commonwealth. These free online surveys are intended to provide school teams with data to support improvement efforts. There are four different school climate surveys that a school may choose to administer: a survey for students, a survey for staff, a survey for parents/caregivers, and a survey for community members/partners.  These surveys are being administered through Derry Township School District. As a member of the Derry Township Community, we would like to ask for your participation in this important effort. Please click on the link to access the survey. The window to access the survey will close at midnight on Sunday, 2/5/2023.

32nd Annual Ben & Tim Day

The 32nd Annual Ben & Tim Day is August 26, 2023, this 5K Race, also has the virtual option available to participants, offers a 1-mile fun run, a Soccer Shots clinic for 2-8-year-olds, as well as Race awards, random prizes, silent auctions, and even a Chicken BBQ, and much more!
