PROVINCE OF ONTARIO ANNOUNCES
VACCINE PASSPORT SYSTEM TO END MARCH 1
The Ontario government is removing its proof of vaccination system as of March 1 and is speeding up the second phase of its COVID-19 re-opening plan from February 21 to this Thursday, February 17, at which time:
- Capacity limits in restaurants, bars, cinemas, gyms and meeting event spaces will be lifted where proof of vaccination is required (*higher risk indoor settings such as night clubs and restaurants with dancing will remain at 25% capacity)

Capacity limits in retail, grocery, pharmacy will be maintained or increased to where 2 metres of physical distancing can be maintained
- Social gatherings will increase to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors - there will be no limit for outdoor organized public events
- Capacity limits at sports arenas, concert venues and theatres will remain capped at 50 per cent
- Masking requirements will remain in place at this time, with a specific timeline to lift this measure to be communicated at a later date
