GGUSD Welcomes Santa Ana SRO

This week we welcomed Santa Ana Police Officer Corporal Anthony Pacheco to our team, serving as the School Resource Officer of our schools located in the City of Santa Ana. Corporal Pacheco will work 100% of his time at our schools, ensuring a safe school environment at Fitz Intermediate Language Academy as well as Hazard, Heritage, Newhope, Rosita and Russell elementary schools.

Currently, our district has six School Resource Officers from the Garden Grove Police Department serving our schools in Garden Grove and one School Resource Officer from the Westminster Police Department serving our Westminster schools. We are thrilled to have Corporal Pacheco serving our Santa Ana schools, addressing any safety concerns raised by students, staff or families. GGUSD SROs are skilled at building positive relationships with students, and detecting safety issues before they occur. We are grateful for our partnership with the City of Santa Ana that has made a dedicated SRO possible at our Santa Ana schools.

Corporal Pacheco has 12 years of experience as a sworn law enforcement officer beginning his career in Hayward California and then joining the Santa Ana Police Department in 2015. His experience includes being a field training officer, child abuse detective and patrol officer. He is an Explorer Advisor and PAAL volunteer and has a proven record of supporting youth within the Santa Ana community. Corporal Pacheco earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice as well as his Master’s Degree in Leadership.
