Bright Skies Ahead

We wish you a bright, healthy and joyful new year!

Thank you for all of your support. We can't protect and enhance open space or offer educational and recreational programming highlighting the San Dieguito watershed without you!

Here's to bright skies in the new year and continuing to make a difference in 2023!

Red Nose Run

The Red Nose Run on Del Mar Beach was easy-breezy for our two favorite executive directors: Shawna Anderson of the River Park JPA and Cheryl Goddard of SDRVC.

Thanks so much to organizers for hosting the annual, fundraising event. This year, the River Park was a beneficiary.

Get-to-71 Campaign

Can you help us Get-to-71? The Conservancy and the San Dieguito River Park JPA are campaigning to complete two unfinished segments of the 71-mile-long Coast to Crest Trail. One of them is east San Pasqual Valley to Boden Canyon (5 miles); the other is between Lake Sutherland and Santa Ysabel (8 miles).

So far, we have raised $1.7 million toward our $2 million goal. Thanks so much to our generous donors!

River Park News

Happy Holidays from San Dieguito River Park staff. SDRP staff celebrated another year of trailblazing and hard work keeping up the goals and mission of the park. We're proud of the work we've done and looking forward to continuing in the new year!

Festive Farmhouse

Our Festive Farmhouse returned in December after a pause brought by the pandemic. More than 30 families, including SDRVC board member Gabriele Wienhausen and her grandson, partook in arts and crafts and cookie making. Thanks to the Friends of Sikes Adobe for making this event possible. Stay tuned for more events coming to Sikes Adobe in 2023.

Art bench at lagoon boardwalk

Come experience the Tipler memorial bench at the Lagoon Boardwalk in Del Mar! This amazing bench holds hidden visual treasures to delight young and old. Designed and crafted by local artist David Frisk with hand-forged steel treated to bring out its luster, this double-sided bench is so much more than a resting spot. Donated by the Coastal Community Foundation and Tipler family in memory of Claire Tipler, this bench is a beautiful way to experience the wetlands that surround the Lagoon Boardwalk. A wonderful addition to the San Dieguito River Park!

High Tech High North County Exhibition

Students presented on their 5-day field excursions throughout the San Dieguito watershed. Each student picked a specific top to study. Their work was so impressive, and the video and book will be on display soon.
