Learn first-hand about life in Gaza from Suhaila Tarazi of Ahli Arab Hospital
Don't miss this opportunity on Thursday, May 11 at 11 a.m. (EST)
Join Ahli Arab Hospital Director Suhaila Tarazi and AFEDJ Executive Director Eileen Spencer for a conversation about current conditions faced by the people of Gaza in these uncertain and perilous days.

Recently Suhaila told us that the Palestinian Ministry of Health advised hospital administrators in Gaza to be ready for violence.

She said, “That is very scary to Gazans because we have already passed through devastating wars. To be ready for another round of violence is really a heavy load for all of us. To have more suffering would be a catastrophe.”

Join the Zoom conversation on Thursday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (EST) by registering below. You'll learn about the remarkable ministry of Ahli Hospital directly from Suhaila and be invited to submit questions to be posed toward the end of the call. We encourage you to take this opportunity to support and sustain Ahli Hospital's critical ministry of compassion and care for its neighbors.

AFEDJ Communications Director Heidi Shott to step down
Share the news about a wonderful opportunity for a mission-driven marketing and communications professional
Five years ago, Heidi Shott joined AFEDJ as our first communications director and got right to work by creating an award-winning website, videos, and annual reports.
She also served as co-creator of our new education program, Bearing Witness: A Journey with Holy Land Christians.

After 25 years as an Episcopal communicator and more than 35 years in the field, she's ready to step away from full-time work. Her last day will be June 30.

Shott (pictured above with students at the Arab Episcopal School in Irbid, Jordan) reflected, "It’s been both a great joy and a deep honor to contribute to the strengthening of American Friends and its support of the inspiring ministries of the Diocese of Jerusalem. I am profoundly grateful to be part of a team of dedicated, talented, and faithful colleagues – both in the US and across the Diocese. I know I will find ways to continue to support the work of American Friends and our friends in the Holy Land in the future."

With Shott's announcement, a new position, Director of Marketing and Communications, is now open through May 31. View the position description here. Please share it with anyone whom you think would bring their expertise, experience, and passion to AFEDJ's mission.
