Egret Consulting enjoyed another consecutive record setting year in 2022. Our success is largely a result of working with the absolute best in the Electrical Industry – across every vertical. In Power Distribution, Automation and Renewables, I am fortunate to partner with clients that are truly leading the industry. My greatest accomplishment this year was receiving so much positive feedback across the board. Nothing is more rewarding than hearing that I helped grow an organization by attracting and adding the strongest talent. Growing market share, expanding verticals, exploring new geographies, improving existing and creating new go to market strategies, introducing new products with an increased focus on emerging technologies…all of this has made for a truly remarkable year!
I’ve seen successes with organizations that have embraced hybrid and remote work models. For those that have stayed remote after implementation during the pandemic productivity has not decreased, and in many cases, has increased significantly. Other organizations are still in the infancy stages of these models and are starting to embrace a hybrid model, asking team members to be onsite 2-3 times a week. In this case too, I’ve seen considerable successes. Both the remote and hybrid models will continue to develop throughout 2023 as organizations address challenges of some engineering, sales, operations, and leadership functions being remote. I’ve seen increased flexibility relative to work schedules. Strong leaders are allowing their team members to find a balance between work and life’s seemingly countless requirements. They’re giving team members the autonomy to perform their job outside of the traditional 9-5 hours. Lastly, I’m seeing a positive trend in a less formal hierarchy structure. Team members are being encouraged to have greater responsibility with the result being given a voice in making significant, meaningful organizational decision making and strategy. The key here is teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. When that level of inclusion occurs, the net results are off the charts!
The general feeling is strong that growth will continue for the foreseeable future. Emerging technologies and exploring underserved needs in market verticals and applications will continue to drive new product development. On the talent side, whether needs are in succession planning for leadership, replacing legacy team members due to retirement, or adding specific, niche technically driven talent to address needs – I am excited for what 2023 and beyond promises.
As we wind down 2022, enjoy meaningful time with family and friends. Reflect on your blessings and make new memories!
I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanzaa! May your Holiday Season be filled with never ending peace and joy!
