Senior Updates

Seniors: College App Results and Scholarships

College Application Results

Upon receiving the results of your applications (accepted, etc.), please put the results in Naviance. Info in Naviance is strictly confidential. Putting your results in Naviance is very important because the data populates comparison charts used to measure a student's admission chances. Putting your results in Naviance will greatly help the next class of seniors when they start applying to college. Here is how:

  • "Colleges I'm applying to"
  • "Edit"
  • "Result"
  • "Save college application"

Scholarships

Now it's time to look for money (scholarships) to pay for college. Look in Naviance - there are over 100 local/national outside scholarships listed. When landing scholarships, please keep track of them. You'll have to list all your scholarships at the end of the year, so keeping track of them now is wise.

Upcoming Dates

Eucharistic Adoration - December 19

In his youth, St. Norbert of Xanten neglected his spiritual life, falling into worldly entrapments found in the imperial court, until his conversion in 1115. Upon his conversion, he became fervent in prayer and lived a life completely focused on Jesus Christ. On Christmas Day in 1121, St. Norbert founded a new religious order in Premontre, France, dedicated to prayer, penance, community life, zeal for souls, love of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament.

With the celebration of Christmas right around the corner, St. Norbert becomes a model for us to follow in adoring and welcoming the Christ Child into our spiritual lives.

Please consider spending time in prayer and devotion with the Christ Child in the Blessed Sacrament on Monday, December 19, in Notre Dame Academy's St. Norbert Chapel as we prepare for Christ's coming. The chapel will be a space to pray with the Eucharist, beginning with Mass at 7:20 a.m. until benediction at 12:45 p.m.

Please sign up using Doodle if you are able to commit to taking some time in silent prayer with our Lord.

News & Information

Safety Drill Update- Held December 12

On Monday afternoon from 1:45 p.m. - 2:05 p.m. we conducted our January safety drill. Students were placed in a Level 2 “Inside of School Secure” Lock Down. This drill is used when there is a situation either outside or inside the building that may have an impact on the school with no immediate threat to students and staff. It is precautionary in nature.

Level 2 Lock Downs have minimal impact on instruction as this procedure requires that students remain in their classroom during the lockdown, and teachers continue to teach with their doors closed and locked.

The primary goal of the drill was to assess our staff’s response and to practice the specific role our support staff plays if the drill were a realistic situation. In addition, this drill provided an opportunity for NDA to have an officer from the Green Bay Police Department K-9 division and his dog come to campus to check a few areas of the building, as part of our drug prevention efforts. The officers conducted their check during the lockdown, and we are pleased to report that they did not find any drugs.

This is one element of our comprehensive substance use prevention program. This element of our program helps to ensure we have a safe environment for our students. The administration feels these events create opportunities for families to discuss the dangers of substance use and the importance of making good choices. We encourage you to take some time over the next few days to discuss these issues with your student(s). As always, if you or your student has questions, please direct them to an administrator.

Personal and Professional Skills Class Field Trip

On Wednesday November 30, Notre Dame’s Personal and Professional Skills class spent the day exploring careers in public service. County Executive Troy Streckenbach led our students through the Northern Building, the Sophie Beaumont Building, and the Brown County Courthouse. We were able to meet with dozens of people to learn about careers in city and county government. We also learned about the types of education and training required for these careers. We then ate at the Grounded Cafe, a non-profit organization that is part of the ADRC where we learned about the outreach programs of the Aging and Disability Resource Center. After lunch we were able to tour the City of Green Bay Police Department and see first-hand careers in law enforcement.

It was a fun and exciting day filled with lots of hands-on learning.
