ACHIEVEMENTS
THIS IS OUR AWESOME SCHOOL
PROVINCIALS IN THE HOUSE!!!
Did you know that it's been 5 years since we have qualified for basketball provincials?!!!
Well, we not only qualified but we are rocking it. Our Mustangs Sr. Girls are doing us proud. It is so fun to have the games in house and be able to cheer for our home team.
At the time of this writing, the girls had just won their game against Kelowna Christian School 54-46. That means that they will be playing for 5th place in the tournament. Game is tomorrow (Saturday) at 12:30 in the Immac Gym.
Good luck to all the teams and congratulations to our girls on a fabulous season.

Go Mustangs!
Not sure what Mr. Freire is doing here...either deep in thought or silently crying happy tears.
MORE THAN A DRINK!
Some of us can't function without our first cup of coffee, but apparently, the miracle drink is good for more than morning wake up!

Grade 10 visual arts has been playing with painting with coffee, and the results are not only delicious but beautiful.
SPIRIT DAYS
PJ DAY
You almost don't need an excuse for wearing comfy PJs, but Shrove Tuesday is a good one.
Some of our students take PJeing very seriously!
ANNOUNCEMENTS
FOOD DRIVE
Pope Francis based his Message for Lent 2022 on a passage from St Paul’s Letter to the Galatians, “Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all” (6:9-10).

It is in this spirit of “doing good” that Immaculata announces our Lenten Food Drive for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Food Drive will take place from March 7 – 17th with specified foods being collected in each homeroom. Thank you for supporting the less fortunate

GRADFLIX -THE AFTER SHOW
On behalf of the Immaculata Grad Class of 2022, I would like to thank you for your generosity in donating to our Grad Show this year. The show was a real hit with all the viewers, showcasing the talents of our students – from acting, and playing instruments, to directing and video editing. In total, we raised over $7600.00 that will be used to offset grad expenses including the grad retreat, bursaries, plaque engraving, and prom. It is really heartening to have such a caring and supportive community in our midst that truly understands what it means to be part of the Mustang Family!
Sincerely,
Angela Griffin

LEADERSHIP
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
It is always great when Immac alumni reach out to us and share the great things they are doing in our community. This week we had two.

First, we got a note from Isabella Harmel, who wanted to let us know about an opportunity available to all our students to get involved in. Isabella is part of a group starting the Kelowna Municipal Youth Service Council, an initiative aimed at getting high school-aged students involved in service in their community.
It entails one online meeting and one in-person service project per month. Meetings will consist of education on service projects and community issues, connecting youth in their communities, and planning service projects and the projects will be planned by the members.
The application form has just opened up and is available until March 30th, any students interested please follow this link https://forms.gle/GsmCiNrMz61kRo2v7
to apply, or contact Mrs. Uhrich for more information.

Second, we heard from Immac 2019 grad, Isaac Hopegood. Isaac has been doing some volunteering at KGH in the Children’s ward and wanted to let us know about an upcoming toy drive on March 12th at Sweetnams Nik Naks in Kelowna. The aim is to raise $3,000 for new toys and electronics for the children’s ward at the Kelowna General Hospital since the old ones were thrown out due to COVID contamination.
If you want to see what Isaac has been up to and the group he volunteers with, see the link here https://kelowna10.com/heres-how-you-can-be-a-hero-and-help-sick-kids-too Can you guess which one is he?
Please CALL the office at
250-762-2730
and leave a recorded message for Ms. Despins if your child will be absent or late.
It is very important that every student is accounted for when marked away. This will save Ms. Despins time when recording attendance.
Lord, may faith in You bring people together so that in every heart and every nation, we are one in communion and love. Amen. heartofthenation.org
