MISSION OF THE MONTH - Siouxland Soup Kitchen

We are concentrating on one specific group each month to benefit from our congregation’s donations. February’s Mission focus is the Siouxland Soup Kitchen. They do the incredible work of feeding many members of our Siouxland community healthy and hearty meals. On a recent Sunday morning, we sang the words:
‘O feed me so that I may feed your hungry ones without delay.’

On February 13 we will have our ‘Souper Bowl’ Sunday challenge following our worship service. Who will win the Super Bowl—Cincinnati Bengals or the LA Rams? All donated dollars will go the Soup Kitchen.
In addition, you may donate items from the list below or write a check putting ‘Soup Kitchen’ in the memo line. Purchased items may be placed in the grocery cart in the narthex.

·  Jumbo size cans of veggies or fruit
·  BBQ sauce, spaghetti sauce, alfredo sauce
·  Cream of mushroom soup
·  Tortilla chips
·  Napkins
·  55- gallon garbage bags
·  Pine-sol

Other items can be found on their Facebook page or at siouxlandsoupkitchen.com
Thank you for your continued support of FCUCC’s Missions.
HYVEE Receipts
Submitted by Ginger France
Thank you for continuing to turn in HyVee receipts. I recently turned them into
my Irving Elementary contact person. Becky’s last submission of receipts totaled
$7800 of which $4600 came from our church members. One percent of the total dollar amount goes to Irving Elementary. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but $226 has
been contributed so far this year. April 24 will be the last receipt collection for
this school year.
Receipts are also given to Mayflower Congregational Church’s preschool.

We invite you to engage and strengthen your faith with these practices:
THE PRACTICE OF WORSHIP: Live Streamed on Facebook and Youtube, and recorded
We Live Stream our Sunday morning worship service via the church’s page on Facebook and Youtube at 10:30am on Sunday mornings. Every service is recorded and available to play at any time on those platforms. If you have trouble, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the church for help.

THE PRACTICE OF LEARNING: Zoom learning sessions each week 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Engage your mind in learning through theological reflection, asking hard questions about God and life, and test your embedded theology to see if that where you want to be.

With Todd Siefker taking over the responsibility of the Sunday sermon and 9:30 a.m. book study, we have temporarily suspended our Wednesday night Admiration Series meetings.

A Closing note about ZOOM:
If you don’t have the ability or the equipment to use Zoom or Facebook to participate in these practices, please call the office. We will be happy to help you find a solution to fully participate in the life of the church.
