Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
Today we celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord and conclude the Christmas season. I encourage you to read the story from Matthew 2:1-12 that recalls how the Magi followed a star to honor Christ the king with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. On Sunday, January 9, we will celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord. On Sunday we also return to our three services – 8:30 am, 9:45 am, and 11:00 am.
Important News for this Week
No Faith Formation – But Youth Choir
We will NOT hold classes for Faith Formation, Confirmation, and High School on Sunday, January 9. We hope to hold the classes the following week, January 16, at 9:45 am. Please note that the Youth Choir will meet this Sunday at their regular time.
Bible Study 101 – Modified
Bible Study 101 will not meet this Tuesday, January 11, at 7:30 pm. I am in conversation with Judy and Doug to reformat the class. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of the Bible and become familiar with the stories of how God relates to his people. The purpose of reformatting the class is to make it more accessible to more people. Stay tuned.
Open Conversation on Racial Justice and Equity
A group of us have been meeting to address some of the issues we face as a country when it comes to racial justice and equity. This is an open conversation so please join us on Thursday, January 13, at 7:00 pm if you are interested. Our intent is to learn more about ourselves and how we (as the church) can be an instrument of change. Here is the Zoom link –
