Hale Winter Welcome Night

Thursday, Dec. 15, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Save the date and plan to join us for our inaugural winter open house event. This evening of community, food and fun will be a chance for all current and prospective Hale families to check out what our students have been up to at school this year.

You can visit Scooter City in the gym (see recommended times on the flyer), grab a bite to eat in the new cafeteria, browse the book fair, hear a story by the fire in the library, take a tour of the building and more throughout the night. More details coming soon!

Hale & Field Holiday Helpers

Holiday Helpers donations can be dropped off at either Hale or Field school through this Wednesday, Dec. 7. Thanks to everyone who has chipped in so far!

Book Fair - Moon Palace Books

Dec. 7-15

The Hale PTA is hosting a Book Fair in partnership with Moon Palace Books, an independent MPS parent-owned bookstore in South Minneapolis. There are two ways to shop:

Virtual Book Fair (Dec. 7-14)

Shop online or in person at Moon Palace Books during the virtual book fair from Dec. 7-14. Enter "Hale School" in the INSTRUCTIONS box at checkout. Online orders can be shipped anywhere or picked up at Moon Palace at 3032 Minnehaha Ave. Check your student's backpack this week for a link to the Hale Book Fair webpage and teacher wish lists.

In Person Book Fair (Dec. 15)

You can buy books from Moon Palace in the Hale Library on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. during Winter Welcome Night. We will also have Hale Bear book bags and a limited supply of spirit wear for sale as well as a complimentary wrapping station for any gifts you purchase. Cards and cash will be accepted.

Friday, Dec. 9 - Patty Wagon/Tailgate Sports Cafe in Minneapolis

Field Dine Out Week at Patty Wagon/Tailgate Sports Cafe in Minneapolis

Monday, Dec. 5 - Friday, Dec. 9 at 6042 Nicollet Ave.

You can dine out for Field any night this week, but Friday, Dec. 9 has been designated as Hale Night at the Patty Wagon and Tailgate Sports Cafe. Be sure to tell your server that you're part of the school fundraiser!

Field Roller Skating Party at Skateville in Burnsville

Saturday, Dec. 10, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at 201 South River Ridge Circle.

Hale School tours: Back in-person

Now through February 2023

Hale is thrilled to welcome prospective families for in-person tours this year. MPS school requests are due Tuesday, Feb. 7. If you or someone you know is considering Hale for an incoming kindergartener or a new 1st or 2nd grader, click this link to sign up for an upcoming tour.

Volunteer Opportunity

MPS Community Education is looking for any parents, grandparents or community members interested in teaching after-school classes at Hale and/or Field for the upcoming winter session. The specific hope is to hold a Dinosaur Arts & Crafts class on Mondays at Hale from Jan. 2 through March 10, but they need a teacher! If you're interested in teaching this class, or a class on another subject, please contact Hale & Field Community Education Coordinator Adam Clark ([email protected]).
