Building affordable homes in
Nez Perce and Asotin Counties since 1991
November 2022
This month we are counting our BLESSINGS, as there is so much to be THANKFUL for...
On behalf of our board and staff, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to our everyone that helped make our annual fundraising a HUGE success! Please checkout the wonderful outcomes from the 2022 L-C Valley Pumpkin Patch below.
We are grateful for the progress on our 35 affordable home build in the L-C Valley. Be sure and see our Construction Update below.

One of the ways Habitat homeowners express their gratefulness is through SWEAT EQUITY. From start to finish, sweat equity gives the future homeowner a deeper sense of appreciation for the entire process of what Habitat does... by the time the Colvin home is build, Danika will have put in 250 hours of sweat equity to help pay for the house. Just look at the appreciation on her face!

350 Field Trips Visits to the Pumpkin Patch
We were delighted this year to have hosted 20 local classes who attended field trips. We are especially grateful for our amazing fieldtrip coordinator, Sister Anderson. This bubbly young woman just wrapped up the final months of her service mission with us, and we are so thankful she did. Her personality and genuine enjoyment of life made her the perfect choice to run the field trips!

THANK YOU Sister Anderson for all you did at L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity!
Where do all the extra pumpkins go?
During the patch, we were often asked "Where do the extra pumpkins go?" Although the leftovers went to multiple places, the bulk were donated to LCSC Dining Services. Laura and the team graciously accepted a literal trailer load of assorted pumpkins and are in the process of making toasted seeds, breads, and muffins that are then being donated to the LCSC Warrior Pantry for the students at Lewis-Clark State College.

To date, they have made over 300 jumbo muffins, 20 loaves of bread, and around 100 bags of seeds. They are freezing the remaining puree and will continue baking after the Thanksgiving break.

THANK YOU, Laura and the Sodexo team for working with us
to combat food insecurity and support the Warrior Pantry!

CONGRATULATIONS to
Playhouse Raffle Winner Adina Bielenberg!
Adina and her husband are in the process of building a new home on the Palouse. They have lots of small children around who will love playing in their new playhouse.

The amazing team at Erb's Ace Hardware took special care loading the playhouse onto their trailer for the trip up the hill. Again, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to Jeremy and the team at Erb's for showcasing the playhouse and helping us sell tickets.

We want to thank everyone who purchased a raffle ticket. We raised $1,400 to help with our current Habitat home. Don't forget, there are ongoing opportunities for your group to sponsor and/or build a playhouse. For more information, click here.
