Question of the week
Q: I chose CLI as my provider, but I recently got a letter saying that CLI would not be able to be my provider anymore because was absent too much. Why did CLI do that?
A: CLI plans our activity schedules around each person's ISP goals AND the days that they've told us that they want to attend. We understand that sometimes stuff happens. However, if people don't show up for their scheduled activities, it creates problems for other CLI clients and it makes creates problems in our ability to staff planned activities.
It is your right to choose whatever provider you want. However, you are making a commitment to attend/participate in the activities you have chosen. It's ok if you try something and you decide that you don't like it. Trying new things is the best way to learn. But if you don't show up enough, a provider can't afford to keep you as a client, which is what happened this time.
If CLI does give you a 30 day notice because you haven't been attending as scheduled, you can always apply to return later. The notice only means that we can't hold the spot open for you for now.
