Idaho REALTORS® 2022 Association Elections and Guide

IR is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions: 

• First Vice President; 

• East District Vice President;

• North District Vice President; 

• NAR Director (Small Board)*; and

• NAR Director (Mid-Sized Board)**.


*This new position will represent and be elected by the REALTORS® of all the local associations in Idaho with fewer than 499 members.


**This new position will represent and be elected by the REALTORS® of all the local associations in Idaho with more than 500 members, but less than 1999 members.

The below Election Packet includes an election timeline, candidate application(s), and a full description of the duties and obligations for each available position.


To apply as a candidate, the following must be returned by email to dhensley@idahorealtors.com no later than 5 PM MDT on the assigned deadlines. 


All submissions must be typed. No late applications will be accepted.

Please include the following in your email:

1. Signed & dated candidate application; 

2. Signed & dated NAR Application (if applicable)

3. Nomination Letter (from your local association)

4. A high-resolution, color digital headshot of yourself.


You will receive a response by email letting you know if your application is complete. An incomplete application does NOT extend the deadline for any reason. Please feel free to contact the CEO if you have any questions.

IR 2022 Scholarship Applications Available Until June 17th

Idaho REALTORS® is awarding one $2,500 scholarship, and five $1,500 scholarships. To be eligible students must be a high school senior or full-time student (12+ credits) enrolled in a college, university, or vocational-technical school, for the 2022-2023 school year. The deadline for applications is June 17, 2022, at 5:00 pm (MDT).

Real Estate Issues Impacted by Recent Tax Changes - 9:00 am - 12:00 pm MDT

This 3-hour seminar will cover the latest Federal Tax Law changes that have taken effect in the last several years that impact 2020 and 2021. These changes impact all taxpayers, including homeowners, prospective homeowners, and owners of both residential rentals as well as commercial rental properties. This includes the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the Cares Act of 2020, the discussion of the PPP Flexibility Act of June 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of December 2020, and the recent Presidential elections. These items and a thorough review of relevant tax laws that REALTORS® should be aware of will be the focus of this webinar.

Retirement and Financial Planning Strategies Focused on Investments - 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm MDT

This 3-hour course covers many facets of financial planning and investing for the Real Estate Professional. The course will also provide an in-depth look at investing in residential real estate properties, which will benefit both the client and the REALTOR®. This part of the course will look at Rates of Return, Cash on Cash, and Debt Reduction Formulas. Most REALTORS® are not thinking seriously enough about their financial future, and this course will provide insight into the benefits of the SEP-IRA, the Self Employed 401(k), and other types of tax-deferred retirement plans.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of basic contract law and how it impacts the real estate licensee. The topics of unauthorized practice of law, types, and validity of contracts, and an overview of the elements of a contract are covered in depth. Other areas addressed include the parole evidence rule, legally competent parties, unilateral and bilateral contracts, mutual agreement, assignment/novation, contract breach, and misrepresentation. Real estate contract preparation is also included.
