Information:
The PA FBLA Board of Directors is the policy-making body for the organization.

The BOD meets twice a year: once either late January or early February AND once in July. Other online meetings or in-person meetings may be called in the event of an urgent matter. The Board of Directors meets starting on a Friday night at 7:00 pm; the meeting continues Saturday morning. Meetings are usually done by 12 noon on Saturday, at the latest. Winter meetings are usually held in Hershey, but spring/summer meetings may be held at Kalahari Resort in the Poconos in years when the SLW is held at that facility. The July meeting will begin at 12:00 noon rather than 7:00 pm.

Board members are reimbursed travel expenses (mileage/tolls) to and from the meetings; PA FBLA covers lodging and meal expenses at BOD meetings.

A Board member with two years remaining in his/her term may be elected as President-elect and will then serve as Board President the following year. This person’s term will be extended one year and will serve as “Past President” on the Board.

Terms become effective or end at the close of the State Leadership Conference.

Application Requirements:
1. All applicants are required to complete two different questions of no more than 500 words.

2. Submitted separately, one letter or email of reference must be submitted on the applicant's behalf (this will not be published). The reference letter may be written by administrators, colleagues, or fellow FBLA advisers. The letter (or email) must be emailed to Bruce Boncal, PA FBLA Executive Director, at: bboncal@pafbla.us, and received by January 31, no later than 11:59 pm.

3. Applicants will be required to submit Pennsylvania background clearances.

For those currently employed by school districts and serving as FBLA advisers, copies of clearances must be on file with the local school system as employees of that school system. Applicants will be expected to provide a copy of their current clearances on file with the school system, but attaching those forms is not necessary at the time the application is filed.

FBLA chapters whose advisers are BOD members are provided the following benefits:
1.      Priority lodging at the State Leadership Workshop host facility (Kalahari).
2.      Priority/reserved seating at SLW general sessions.
3.      Priority lodging at the State Leadership Conference host facility (Hershey Lodge).
4.      Priority/reserved seating with Board of Directors schools and Executive Committee schools at SLC general sessions.
5.      As an added benefit, BOD members may bring family members/guests to share the same room when at the Kalahari Resort. Those family members may enjoy the benefits of the Kalahari Resort since a lodging room usually has at least two beds and a maximum of 4 waterpark entry passes. PA FBLA pays no additional costs for family members.

The 2023-2024 Board of Directors meeting schedule:
July 21-22, 2023: Kalahari Resort: meeting begins at 12:00 noon on Friday
January 26-27, 2024: Hershey Lodge: meeting begins at 7:00 pm on Friday
---meetings may end no later than 12:00 noon on Saturday (usually by 10:00 am)
