“Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you.”Matthew 7:7

These familiar words of Jesus became reality this Christmas as the Marvin’s Kids ministry team enlisted the help of Saint Mark disciples to bring joy to 46 families and 140 children.

The outpouring of love that you showed by visiting families, buying Christmas gifts that transformed the Saint Mark Center into a well-stocked toy store, helping families shop at Walmart, making cookies, buying food and packing food boxes, helping parents choose and wrap their gifts, was overwhelming. Every time we asked, you said yes; every time we needed something special, you found it; every time we were stymied, a door was opened, and we found a way through.

Thank you for your support and your eagerness to help in so many ways. The radiant smiles on the faces of both parents and volunteers were proof once again that love came down at Christmas. ~ Sandy James

Upcoming Opportunity

to Serve!

We as a church have been sponsoring Wilderness Way Girls' Camp for many years through donations and volunteering. One of their main streams of income is sales from their thrift stores.

On Saturday, January 14 at 9 am, we will find a truck load of bags of clothing in the Saint Mark Center that will need to be sorted. Men, women, boy and girl. Summer/winter. We will not be pricing, only trying to streamline the sorting process. The sorted groups of clothing will be boxed and labeled. We hope to be completed with the boxes loaded by 12:00pm.

The Service & Mission team hopes that this event will help raise awareness of the mission and vision of the Wilderness Way Girls' Camp and the ways we can continue to support this important ministry. Come have fun with us!

DRUMS ALIVE FOR ADULTS!!

Saint Mark is launching a new community-based program that combines fitness and music and fun! Come get a sneak peak on Monday, Jan. 23 at 10 am in the Saint Mark Center. All equipment is provided - just wear comfortable clothes and shoes and come for an hour of fellowship and fun.

Master trainer Kelly Jackson will introduce us to the ins and outs of Drums Alive, and she is an expert at modifying the program for all activity and fitness levels. Cost is $5 per person. Contact Laura Ritter with any questions.

Lenten Bible Study with Pastor Todd

Faithfulness regardless of our circumstances. That's what it means to be steadfast. But in a world where so much can undermine our faith or pull us off track, steadfastness is often a rare and elusive trait.

James longs for his readers to be steadfast. His letter meets us in our suffering and sickness, our trials and temptations, our wealth and poverty, our ups and downs. He confronts our sin, our speech, and our pride. He encourages believers to have a more resilient and concrete faith: not just to hear the word, but to do it. He calls us to persevere in truth in a world of lies, to see that God's steadfast love is ultimately the source of our steadfast faith.

This 8-week study of James by Rev. Courtney Doctor provides:

  • 5 days of study each week—observing, interpreting, and applying the text
  • Devotional commentary with space to journal your thoughts
  •  Memory verse each week
  • Small group discussion questions

In a fickle and wayward age, we need biblical wisdom if we are to stay the course and be steadfast saints. The book of James provides this wisdom, and Steadfast will help you apply it.

Our study group will meet in Room A201 weekly on Mondays, February 13 -April 3, 2023 from 10:00 am -11:30 am. If you plan to be a part of this group, please let Pastor Todd know - [email protected]
