For those who missed our Legislative Wrap-Up Party last month, you can watch the recording of the session over here. SWTA Executive Director Rich Sampson was joined by our Legislative Committee Chair, Eron Linn at DART, along with Katie Kachel of our Washington, D.C. firm Blank Rome to cover the key details of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)/Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) and how the significant amount of new funding provided in the legislation will be distributed.

At our upcoming SWTA/TTA Joint Annual Conference next month in Austin, Rich and Katie will present on the BIL/IIJA and other developments in Washington during our Legislative & Adovcacy workshop session from 2:00-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd.
Meanwhile, many SWTA members are concerned about the implementation of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training regulations that are scheduled to take effect February 7, 2022. In addition to the FTA webinar noted above, SWTA has sent a letter to the FMCSA supporting APTA & CTAA's joint request for a three-month waiver to the effective date. National RTAP has also issued a brief on the regulations. Please contact SWTA Executive Director Rich Sampson at rsampson@swta.org or 225.270.0855 if you have additional questions or challenges on this issue.
