What's happening in June
There is so much to love about our city and each month we look forward to connecting with you, our community, to keep you up-to-date with the latest news, events and initiatives in your local area.

Each edition we bring you aims to shine a light on the six themes of our 2040 Community Vision, which include liveable, prosperous, valuing nature, innovative, engaged and connected.

In this edition you'll get to have your say with our latest customer satisfaction survey, come along to our opening event for the new Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre, recap on our Reconciliation Week, and learn how to apply for the latest round of Community and Youth Development Grants.

From everyone here at City of Marion, we hope you have a great June.
You're invited to the new Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre!
To celebrate the opening of the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre, we'll be hosting an open community event on Saturday 25 June.

The free event will showcase a number of sports including football, rugby, volleyball, basketball, 'come and try' sessions for all ages, cultural activities, arts and crafts, and much more.

You'll also get to enjoy live music, face painting, roving performers and a variety of food and coffee available throughout the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre.

CoastSnappers required
If you're walking along the coast in Hallett Cove or Marino, don't forget to keep an eye out for our CoastSnap stations and take a moment to share your coastal snap.

By taking part in this initiative, you'll be helping to measure how our beaches erode and recover over time due to changing ocean conditions.

Happy snapping!
Pumping pump tracks
Get the kids out to experience the new pump tracks opening within the coming months in some of our favourite local reserves.

Pump tracks will be installed in Hugh Johnson Boulevard Reserve, Sheidow Park, Capella Drive Reserve, Hallett Cove, and Nimboya Road Reserve, Marino.

Keep an eye out on our City of Marion social channels for the official opening dates.
35 years of Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre
After 35 years, Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre will relocate from Cumbria Court to the new purpose-built Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre.

Marlene Littlewood is the centre’s longest standing volunteer. “Without the centre, I would be lost,” says Marlene.

Outcomes of the recent community consultation determining the use of the old site will be shared over the coming months.
That's a wrap for National Volunteer Week!
16 May to 22 May marked National Volunteer Week (NVW).

Council acknowledged the outstanding support our volunteers provide to our organisation and wider community.

Volunteering not only brings people together; it builds communities and creates a better society for everyone.
