Commonwealth Suffolk Fellowship Program
Congratulations

The Human Resources Division is thrilled to congratulate our newest graduate of the Suffolk Fellowship Program, Sean Barry from the Massachusetts State Police.

Throughout the past year, Sean attended the Master in Public Administration (MPA) Program at Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School. The MPA program empowers and equips our Suffolk Fellows with leadership capabilities that they can invest in their organizations and influence better government.

We salute his dedication to leadership and learning and proudly congratulate Sean on this achievement.

The Human Resources Division had the opportunity to connect with Sean to learn more about his experience.

Sean Barry

Massachusetts State Police

For over a year and a half, I attended full time classes at Suffolk University while continuing to work on the State Police. It truly was a challenging and rewarding experience.

During this time, I met and learned from a diverse group of fellow students and professors. We talked about the difficult subjects that often showed the raw emotions surrounding our social challenges. This experience highlighted the importance of listening respectfully to everyone. The professors always stressed the importance of discussing the difficult issues while always showing respect and understanding.

After completing my fellowship and earning my Master in Public Administration I am prepared to meet the challenges facing my profession, community, and nation. It has been an honor to be a recipient of the Commonwealth Suffolk Fellowship which allowed me to share many experiences from a diverse group of people and broaden my understanding of the challenges we face.
