Two Nerdy History Girls

January 10 at 7pm via Zoom

Join us online as we chat with Loretta Chase and Susan Holloway Scott, the originators of the “Two Nerdy History Girls” blog.

They will be answering all of our burning questions, such as how do they find interesting tidbits of historical lore? How do they avoid going down the rabbit hole?

We are looking forward to a fascinating conversation between these two friends and researchers.

Please register using the link below. You will then receive a Zoom link for the online event.

This program is made possible by a collaboration with the Ashland Public Library and surrounding local libraries.

New Programs for the New Year!

First, a huge thank-you to all the wonderful patrons and staff who donated to our Giving Tree! You have made Christmas so much merrier for homeless children served by Emmaus, Inc., and we our deeply moved by your outpouring of support and your amazing generosity.

Now that the holidays are over, the Youth Services Department is starting the new year with some brand-new programs! Because we learned from our recent patron survey that you’re looking for more programming for ages 6-12, we have three new monthly offerings for that age range: “Boredom Busters” for ages 6-9, “Crafty Kids” for ages 6-12, and “Create, Explore & More” for ages 6-12.

Other new programs include “Imagine That!” for ages 3-5 and “First Chapters Book Club” for ages 7-9 – be sure to visit the library’s website to find details about all of these fun additions to our calendar.

We also have some new-ish programs, slightly reconfigured to serve our patrons’ needs and schedules: “Sensory Baby” and “Sensory Playtime” have morphed into a monthly “Sensory Saturday” program, and “Donuts with Dad” and “Muffins with Mom” have been combined into one “Donuts with Grown-ups” monthly program. Last but not least, we’re bringing back our popular “Sprouting Scientists” for ages 3-5!

As ever, we’ll also have our usual variety of preschool programs, storytimes (including a bilingual program), book groups, teen programs, and more – keep an eye on the Youth Services Department calendar and Facebook page to keep track of what’s in store!

Happy New Year, and Happy Reading!
