Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 20, 2022
Greetings!

On Wednesday, March 2nd, we will begin the beautiful season of Lent. These forty days are given to us not only to prepare for Easter, but also to remember what God has done for us in Jesus - His passion, death, and resurrection. For us Christians, we call this the new Passover - the Lord’s passing over from death to life. By dying Jesus destroyed death forever, and by rising restored us to everlasting life. Read More...

In Christ, God has now lifted the veil from His face (The Spirit of Liturgy – Ratzinger, p.116).” Many non-Catholics always misunderstood the way we venerate sacred images; they put it in a context of worshipping idols. When Jesus Christ, our Savior, took the human flesh as His own image, God revealed His true image to humanity. Read More...

There is still plenty of time to respond with a gift to this year’s Appeal. Gifts can be made through our parish office or the Diocesan website. Thank you!
PARISH RENEWAL INITIATIVE

Hope-filled Lent:
Praying with the Psalms & Gospels

Together, let us help each other to experience Jesus as our companion and partner. Join us for 45-60 minutes as we make space for prayer and reflection in community with one another. Attend one session or all five.

Join us on Zoom: Monday evenings at
7-8 PM on March 7, 14, 21, 28, & April 4.
Preparing & Sharing Our Hearts

This will be similar to the “Coming Home to Advent” series. You will reap the graces of praying in solitude throughout the week and sharing your prayer experiences with other community members on Tuesday evenings. Choose whatever content you wish to prepare your hearts: the Lenten Black Book, Give Us This Day, and/or the Hallow app. Prepare and share your hearts this Lent!
Hallow App

The App also has a section for children. Pray together as a family or encourage children to begin their personal journey with God.

A generous donor gave our parish free access until Easter. Check out the app today!

Packing lunches isn’t the only way to help! We are in need of financial support to purchase the lunch supplies and we would be most grateful for all contributions. It costs approximately $500 to fully fund the lunches we provide each month. Any amount is greatly appreciated! You can donate online and choose the Sandwich Ministry Fund from the drop-down menu.

A Huge Thank You to our
Holy Spirit Middle School Students!

Being the face of Jesus is alive and well at our Holy Spirit school. Our middle school students made up Valentine’s Day cards for those in our community who needed to feel the love of the community around them. Home First an Emergency Interim Housing agency was given the gift of 50 cards for their clients. They were well received. Thank you to all who participated. Little acts of kindness go a very long way.
