STRONG In Prayer

We had a wonderful Day of Prayer Last Tuesday! WCA joined other Christian schools around the globe in praying for our world, our school, peace, and more! This year's theme was "Shalom." Every student visited four stations that guided them in prayer:

Adoration: Telling God how much we love him

Confession: Telling God about a poor choice we made

Thanksgiving: Thanking God for all our blessings

Supplication: Telling God our concerns and needs

Special thanks to our 7th and 8th grade Leadership Team for planning this meaningful day for the entire school!

STEAM DAY - WCA's Invention Convention

We are celebrating God's gift of imagination! During our STEAM days, students will be learning more about how God uses the gift of imagination to make the world a better and more fun place! Each class will learn about inventors through research and class discussion and then put their own imaginations to work by building their inventions.

Wednesday, February 23 - INSPIRATION (Spirit Wear)

Students will begin to create their own inventions.

Thursday, February 24 - INNOVATION (Spirit Wear)

Do you know who invented the fortune cookie? Here's a hint...it’s not who you might expect. WCA kids will learn about two fun inventions on Thursday, the fortune cookie and chopsticks! Chef Kim has planned an Asian – inspired meal of fried rice.

Friday, February 25 - IGNITION (WCA Yellow All In Him Shirts)

Parents are invited at 2 pm to view student inventions, then enjoy a time of fellowship outdoors with students. Tea, lemonade, and popcorn will be served.

Flag Football

WUMC is planning an Upward Flag Football Season for boys and girls grades 1st-6th. Evaluations will be on Feb 26 at 9 am. The season will be from March 5 - May 14. Practice and games will be on Saturdays on the fields behind the Family Life Center. The cost is $135.

We surpassed our Operation Sandwich Goal

of 800 sandwiches!

Way to go, Hawks! We made 400 sandwiches that went into the 200 bag lunches our Upper School packed, and we made almost 600 individual sandwiches. That's a grand total of 1,000 sandwiches for Roof Above ministries to help feed our homeless neighbors here in the Charlotte area.

Reflecting on God's Peace in Art Class

In art class this week, our 2nd graders listened to worship music while reflecting and then drawing what God's peace means to them.

EC & Beta Club Fun & Fellowship

WCA Beta Club sponsored a "Parents' Night Out" for our Exceptional Children's class. The event started with a time of fellowship and pizza. Students had so much fun teaching their fellow students how to play 4-square; we had to take a snack break for cupcakes! The fun concluded with spirited bingo games complete with prizes provided by Beta Club for winners. Of course, everyone was a winner! What a fantastic night of fun, games, food, and fellowship! #wca20strong #AllinHim
