A Message from Jeff
To my siblings in Christ,
One of my first experiences as the Associate Pastor at Covenant was a baby shower given for my wife and I as we started the journey of parenthood. As far as first impressions go, it was an incredible demonstration of generosity. Nothing over the past five years has shown me anything other than a generous body of faithful individuals dedicated to caring for one another and their neighbors. As I depart from this service, I am going with a heavy heart but also a joyful hope knowing that the world will continue to be a better place because the people of Covenant are present and active in discerning God’s will.

I will hold you all in my prayers and will always be grateful to you all.

Peace,
Jeff Fox-Kline
A Message from Charlie
On Thursday, we shared the news of the congregational meeting on Sunday, February 27, to dissolve the pastoral relationship between Covenant and Associate Pastor Jeff Fox-Kline, at the request of Session. This meeting was called in a joint request of Jeff and the Personnel Committee with input from the Committee on Ministry of our presbytery. I join Session and Personnel in wishing Jeff all the best in the future.
As we journey through this transition time, I take comfort in the words of Jeremiah 29:11, which remind us that God guides us and leads us.
Grace and peace,
Charlie

Adult Education
Join us Sunday at 10:00am on Zoom for Adult Education! Today’s class is “Key Hebrew Words Every Christian Should Know”, led by friend of Covenant Chelsea Cornelius. This class will explore a brief history of biblical translation and how understanding even a few words in Hebrew can enhance our appreciation for scripture and deepen our practice as Christians. Chelsea will also share about her ongoing ordination process and how learning Hebrew has prepared her pastorally as she continues to prepare for ordination in the PC(USA). There will be time for questions and discussion.

Chelsea is the Pediatric Chaplain at UW Health American Family Children's Hospital. She is a UW-Madison alum (BA, 2015) and earned her Master of Divinity degree at the University of Chicago Divinity School (MDiv, 2019). She is a candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Chelsea and her fiancé, Sarah, live on the east side of Madison.

Missed a previous class or want to re watch one? Adult Ed classes are recorded and shared on our Adult Ed page and YouTube page.
Starting the week of March 6, we will offer small groups at various days and times throughout the week. For six weeks in Lent, your group will meet to discuss the scripture passage from worship to accompany our sermon series "Let's Talk About Jesus". You are not required to be at all six gatherings, but the hope is that you will come to as many as you are able. Most groups meet over Zoom, but meetings could potentially take place outside or indoors (masked and socially distanced). Sign up HERE or contact Pastor Jeff if you have any questions.
Before the pandemic, through our partnership with Glenn Stephens School, we were providing fruit once a month. Currently, students are not able to snack as it would be another time they would be without their masks in the classroom. This year, we welcomed teachers and staff to school by stocking the fridge and pantry with (mostly) healthy snacks. We are planning another collection in early March. If you would like to help, please bring individually wrapped items to the gathering space from March 6-13.

Suggested snacks: pretzels, low-fat/air-popped popcorn, whole grain crackers, rice cakes, veggie chips, fruit bars, whole grain cereal bars, sparkling water, diet soda, vitamin water, fruit juice. Thank you!
There will be several Spiritual Strolls on the horizon, beginning at Owen Conservation Park on Sunday, February 27 at 2:00pm. Join together with your Covenant family for this holy hike!

CONNECT is a program of events sponsored by the deacons of Covenant Presbyterian Church with the intention of fostering connection within the congregation and community.
