all the winter long."

A word from our founder:
Is it really December? Where did this past year go? It has just flown by. Here we are in the Holiday season, one of my favorite times of the year. Yes, NOW it is time for the Christmas Music! I often find myself reflecting on life during this season. Even though for me it is sooo busy! My “business" is often interrupted, sometimes at like 3:32 AM, with thoughts of thankfulness and gratitude.
Many of you may not know this but I go to hot yoga three times a week. It’s my most favorite thing I do for me. Often at the beginning of class, the instructor will set the “intention” for class. It might be gratitude, or some type of affirmation to focus on for the hour. A few weeks ago, the intention was a question: “What if all the things we want and need, we already have?” I know, it’s a little esoteric, but I resonated with it and I have not stopped thinking about that idea. Yes there are things that I want and need but really, I already have everything I could ever really need.

Fresno Music Academy & Arts gives charitably to: Compassion International, One Warm Coat, Central California Food Bank and SPCA, Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, The Humane Society and some others, more local, Fresno State, Fresno Community Band. This leads me into why I feel it’s so important to give, or share if you will, of our time and resources, no matter how much or little we have.
I’d like to highlight Central California Food Bank.
They fight hunger by gathering and distributing food, engaging in partnerships that advance self-sufficiency, and by providing community leadership on issues related to hunger.
Last year they distributed 54 million tons of food to children, seniors and adults. More than 18,000 valley residents donated their time and resources to feed 350,000 people per month.
Just AMAZING! If you feel so inclined, here is the link to donate. ONE DOLLAR feeds SEVEN people!

Again, I am grateful that I have enough and I am happy to be able to share resources with others. To me, this is the reason for this holiday season and every other day.
Peace, and Merry Christmas!
- Deb

Most of you already know these fabulous girls. If you don't, well then- meet our office staff! Allison Lanford (middle) is our office manager, Emily Kearns ( to her left) is her side kick, and Julia is our Saturday girl. Without these three “rockstars”, our school would not run efficiently. Well... it wouldn’t run at all! We are so grateful to the three of them for all their hard work and dedication.

🎶 Music Facts 🎶
O Come, O Come Emmanuel" is one of the oldest Christmas hymns to still get airplay. Originally composed in Latin during the twelfth century, it was translated into English by John Mason Neale in 1851.
Thurl Ravenscroft, the singer responsible for How the Grinch Stole Christmas' classic song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," also famously voiced Tony the Tiger, the mascot for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes.
