Dean's Update: Libraries as the Connectors 

We have been testing different brand statements in the last several months, searching for one that can trigger a quick recognition of the Libraries. The other day through a discussion with our faculty advisory group a description arose the reminder that the library is a connector. Four of our featured stories in this issue of In Circulation illustrate this notion.

Core to libraries is their connection of people to information. This spring, the Libraries completed project work with library staff at the Academy of Natural Sciences, installed new technology to facilitate connections to information, provided leadership to connect a team around a common passion and shared a thoughtful thanks through a shared yearning for spring.

Academy of Natural Sciences Library & Archives Collections Now Searchable through Libraries Website

Collections from the Academy of Natural Sciences Library and Archives are now searchable through the University Libraries online catalog, increasing visibility of the Academy's holdings and extending the reach of its collections. Students, faculty and researchers - specifically those interested in the natural sciences - will find added conveniences and efficiency with this new single search option. 


Memories of Spring Photography Exhibit shares a Student's Thank You to Drexel
Coming to the United States was starting a new journey for me - similar to the spring of a new year. I really wanted to share these wonderful Chinese spring scenes with everyone at Drexel University. I really appreciate the warm welcome that I have received from Drexel. This exhibit is a collection of photographs from LiLi Mao, a graduate student at Westphal College. 

Drexel Selected to Participate in ACRL Assessment in Action

Drexel University Libraries was recently selected as one of 55 institutions to participant in the national Association of College and Research Libraries' [ACRL's] Assessment in Action (AiA) program. The program supports work to empower libraries to document and communicate the value of their work as well as their contributions to institutional goals.

Jennifer Nasser, PhD, RN, associate professor at the College of Nursing and Health Professions will provide the evenings food for thought presentation. Nasser's research focuses on food intake and dopamine. Recently, she was a guest on the Rachel Ray show for a segment titled Your Brain on Broccoli where she talked about how the human brain reacts to different types of foods.
