The traditional Holiday Season is upon us. We in Bradley Beach take pride in our generosity and civic engagement. A few examples:

The Bradley Food Pantry held its annual Thanksgiving turkey dinner giveaway this past Friday. A record 722 turkeys and “boxes of fixings”. Director Linda Curtiss and her “right hand”- Jane Mackta, brought the team and borough resources together and delivered for the people who need help this year. The Food Pantry currently has 170 volunteers at their Fourth Avenue site that combat food insecurity – on the front line! 

As part of their Holiday Giving Drive, The Bradley Beach Business and Community Alliance (BBBCA) had a “town sweep” Sunday- collecting clothing, toys, books, and crafts to benefit both the Bradley Beach Elementary school and the Bradley Food Pantry.  The teams went door-to-door, porch-to-porch, and collected 350 gifts!!  The drive runs through December 15th.  We know our residents and businesses will generously step up and support this important initiative! Thanks so much!

These are two examples of our town’s generosity and how we “look out for the other guy”, something we as Americans always have delivered on.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.  We have a lot to be thankful for in Bradley Beach!  Don’t forget the Bonfire this Friday at 5:00PM and the Tree Lighting on Sunday at 4:00PM at Riley Park!

With the holidays quickly approaching we have many exciting things planned for the coming months at the Rec Center and all over Bradley Beach so make sure to check the website for updates! Events are in the works- details are in the newsletter and the website.

We will continue to focus on Service and Progress as a Municipal Team.
