Remembering Those Lost During COVID-19
Over the past three months, the Sisters at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany honored Sisters lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic's restrictions on in-person gatherings, traditional funeral services weren't held for these Sisters at the time of their passing.

To further honor the lives of each Sister lost during the pandemic, we will share their eulogies in upcoming editions of the e-newsletter between October and December. These eulogies (where applicable) are currently available on the Congregation's website. Click here to view them.
Franciscan Sisters of Allegany Sign on To 2021 Global Investor Statement
By: Gloria Oehl OSF
The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, in conjunction with 587 other investors (to date), signed on to a statement entitled: Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis, calling on the world’s government to implement robust policies to address the Climate Crisis. Initially, it was delivered to the UN leaders at the General Assembly (meeting from September 14-30). The final statement is to be brought to the COP 26 (UN Climate Change Conference) meeting in Scotland in November.

Please keep this movement in your prayers.
Franciscan Center to Hold Blessing of the Animals
On Friday, October 1, the Franciscan Center Tampa will hold a Blessing of the Animals. This blessing will be hosted in honor of the Feast of St. Francis, which falls each year on October 4.

The event, scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on the grounds of the Franciscan Center (3010 North Perry Avenue in Tampa) will also feature live music in the riverfront pavilion and a chance to meet the Tampa Police Department's K-9 Unit, as well as the Mounted Police and representatives from Southeastern Guide and Service Dogs. Franciscan Friars from Sacred Heart Church will be on hand to perform the pet blessing, which will begin at 6 p.m.

Now that Chapter has passed and all necessary address changes for outgoing and incoming leadership have been relayed to me, I am finalizing the Directory for print purposes. Those who requested a print copy should expect it sometime in October, depending on the printer's speed. Those who are using the digital directories on the website will find an up-to-date version posted at the end of this week. I want to thank you all for your patience during this transition to a new way of handling our annual directory. If anyone wishes to request a last-minute hard copy, please email me at denise.bunk-hatch@fsallegany.org by Friday, October 1.
