2024 CFA Day Forum & Legal Symposium

(Registration will open mid-January)

Franchisee Fact

The quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry accounts for 45.3% of all franchise employment.

One of franchisees’ biggest expenses is credit card swipe fees. A recent New York Times piece unveiled how the high swipe fees imposed by the credit card duopoly led to increased prices for goods and services, disproportionately impacting franchisees. Use CFA’s Action Center to write to your senators and ask them to support the Credit Card Competition Act!

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dear Franchisees,

On behalf of CFA™, we hope you had a great Thanksgiving! As 2023 is coming to a close, we look back on a year that has seen much in the news that has affected franchisees, but we look forward to 2024 with hope.

We are happy to report that the National Labor Relations Board has announced a delay in the effective date of the joint employer rule to Feb. 26, 2024. This will allow opponents of the rule time to prepare litigation and educate Congress on how this affects franchisees. CFA will continue to be your Voice™ on this issue, and more, as we head into 2024.

For 2024, we have lots of great things in store, but we need your help! We need franchisees in Washington, D.C., to share their voice on important issues, and CFA will help make that happen. For the first time ever, CFA is bringing together two successful and unique programs into one large event, specifically for franchisees. The CFA Day Forum & Legal Symposium is scheduled for April 15-17, at the Royal Sonesta in Washington, D.C. With the hotel in walking distance to Capitol Hill, this event puts you at the forefront of the political sphere during this critical election year. This event will give you the opportunity to visit with members of Congress, network with other franchisees and more.

Have a happy holiday and a good rest of your year!

Warm Regards,

John Motta

CFA Chairman

How Effective Leadership Boosts Productivity

Leadership and productivity connect in a number of concrete and nonobvious ways. Both collective and individual leadership on a team have an outsized impact on productivity.
