APRIL 2022 ELECTIONS
Missouri State Redistricting Updates:
State House Redistricting:
In late January, the House Independent Bipartisan Commission approved the redistricting map for Missouri House districts. Our Clay County incumbent Republicans have new districts: HD 8: Josh Hurlbert; HD 16: Chris Brown; HD 39: Doug Richey. A new HD 17 is carved out in the Pleasant Valley/Shoal Creek/Claycomo area. Here is the map of Clay County as well as an interactive link to the full map.
State Senate Redistricting:
Because there was no Bipartisan Commission agreement, a State Senate District map will be devised by a judicial panel appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court.
Congressional Redistricting:
The Missouri House approved a congressional redistricting map which retains the 6-2, Republican/Democrat alignment. Clay County remains split between the 5th and 6th Districts currently represented by Emmanuel Cleaver and Sam Graves respectively. The new map extends the 5th further into Clay.

GARY SMEDILE, CHAIRMAN, CLAY COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Welcome to the first edition of our new regular newsletter. This is only one of several “media outlets” that we’re either initiating or expanding in order to keep like-minded conservative Republicans in Clay County informed on important issues and events. With this issue, we’ll give you a brief introduction.

The Clay County Republican Central Committee (CCRCC) is part of the organizational foundation of the Republican Party in Missouri. Clay County is divided into 33 legislative sub-districts, each electing one man and one woman to make up the Committee. Be a registered voter and resident of Clay and your sub-district for at least one year and you can qualify to run for a CCRCC position.

The Committee has two constitutionally defined tasks - one to elect officers, who will in turn help elect members of the State Committee, and the other to fill vacancies on the ballot in cases of death or resignation. However, the Committee and its members also lay the foundation for the Republican Party's direction, especially on the local level.

But our activities are really so much more and in 2022, even more exciting.
  • WIN ELECTIONS with a major league level of dedicated, qualified conservative Republican candidates and volunteers in all our elections, for all our races.
  • ADVOCATE FOR STRONG REPUBLICAN, CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES: The ideals of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence; freedom; individual liberty; equality; traditional values and virtues for our families, schools and communities; secure neighborhoods, borders, and elections; strong national defense. We are working to preserve America’s greatness for ourselves, our children and grandchildren.

Whether through Get Out The Vote efforts, recruiting and supporting qualified candidates, or setting the policies and issues that define the party, the Committee and its members have always been and will continue to lead the conservative cause in Clay County.
