At 12:15 the line closes, and the Roof Above staff cleans up! Brent Scott (aka Souper) and I are there most months. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Brenda McKay for more details.

Your Heart, Their Math

Kick off the new year with a resolution to build community by volunteering

as a tutor with Heart Math Tutoring! January is a great time for new tutors.

Students at Rama Road Elementary are ready to be paired with math tutors

to strengthen foundational math skills and build academic confidence. A commitment of just one hour per week can

make a huge impact in a student's life. Visit the HeartMath website to learn more

and to sign up today! Feel free to contact Ed Shoaf with any questions.

Families Forward Charlotte Needs Family Liaison Mentors!

Families Forward Charlotte empowers local families to overcome intergenerational poverty. In their Family Success Program, family liaison mentors develop one-on-one relationships with their assigned family partners, assist them in setting personal goals and help them navigate the steps necessary to achieve those goals. Creating change for these families is a journey...and we hope you'll join us for the next one! Families Forward Charlotte (FFC) is gearing up for another life-changing year and YOU can be a part of it. You’re invited to attend one of our short (zoom) informational sessions to learn about how being a Family Liaison Mentor can truly be life-changing to a struggling family in our community. Click here to sign-up, or email info@familiesforwardclt.org.

Earth Care Education Team

Education is one area of focus for Sardis’s newly formed Earth Care committee. We are looking for interested members of all ages to join us in equipping the congregation to learn more about all the ways we can care for God’s great gift of creation. We have carved out a new area in the library for earth care literature for all ages. We look forward to working with  Sunday School teachers, and Youth Leaders about curriculum to further educate us about how our faith can preserve and care for God’s creation. For example, last fall the Sunday School class Salty Fish studied the book Inheriting Eden. We are looking for interested volunteers to help us short term or long term. Please join us in forming the new Education Earth Care Team. Contact Scottie Lindsey, Judy Laedlein or Shannon Klug to join the team.

Volunteer in the Nursery

The nursery is open for both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services and we need your help to keep it running smoothly! We're so excited about our new nursery location, the former Resource Room next to the Adult Library, and hope that you'll check it out! Sign up to volunteer here! Contact Sarah Dianne Jones with any questions.
