A Message from Mayor Susan Shin Angulo
Dear Neighbor:

On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of joining members of Township Council to welcome attendees to our first Music Under the Stars concert series of 2021. Dozens of people turned out to watch The Rat Pack Tribute band and attendees of all ages enjoyed a beautiful summer evening with great music and great food along the way.

This free, family-friendly summer concert series continues with Jesse Garron’s Tribute to Elvis on July 13, Legacy on July 20, and Xtreme Queen – Queen Tribute on July 27. Delicious food items are available for purchase from local food trucks. Bring your blanket, a chair, and even a picnic dinner - just don't forget your appetite for great music! These concerts are FREE and open to the public. Thank you Jefferson Health and South Jersey Magazine for their support of this year's series.

Special thank you to Trinity Presbyterian Church for allowing the use of their parking lot during this concert series. The free Township shuttle is available to take people to and from the Farmstead. For more information on upcoming events, please visit our website.

I also wanted to let you know that, at the upcoming Council meeting on Monday night, Council will be voting on the first reading of an ordinance that will allow us to hit pause on allowing cannabis businesses to operate in the township until the state's Cannabis Regulatory Commission releases its initial rules and regulations.

Cherry Hill residents overwhelmingly supported the legalization of marijuana, and it goes without saying that the legalization brings with it a considerable rebalancing towards justice, as well as economic opportunity.

Ultimately, we expect to see cannabis businesses come to the township in some form in the future, but we cannot create township regulations related to it until the Commission releases its rules and regulations. Since the Commission’s deadline to release them is the same as the township’s deadline to make a determination, we feel we must opt out at the current moment.

Once those rules and regulations are released, I look forward to working with our township professionals and statewide organizations to understand the impact on our neighbors, residents and commercial areas and craft a plan that is in the best interest of our community as a whole.

Please continue to stay safe.
Sincerely,
Susan Shin Angulo

Department of Public Works
Recycling Information
When it comes to recycling, everyone has a part to play. When we all work together, we can make sure recyclable materials don’t end up in our lakes and landfills. The Township believes in creating a clean, safe and healthy world where people thrive – not just for today, but for generations to come. Since last fall, we have been educating our residents on recycling in order to help diminish recycling contamination.

Trying to recycle unclean or unrecyclable material causes all kinds of avoidable problems. It increases sorting time, damages the sorting facility’s equipment, and contaminates the bales of clean recyclables. When this happens, we have to put the entire load of recyclables into our landfills due to the contamination. It’s just another way that we are helping you become a better recycler!

Have you received your recycling guideline sticker on your blue recycling bin yet? If not, please contact the Department of Public Works at (856) 424-4422.

For more information, please visit our website.
Senior Living
Cherry Hill Senior Bus
The Cherry Hill Senior Bus has returned for service. All riders must wear a mask while on the bus, in accordance with the state’s current mask requirements for public transit. Bus service is offered for free to residents age 62 and up, and runs Monday through Friday. The Senior Bus service was initially put on pause during the pandemic, and a return to service in the spring was delayed after the bus was among the 10 municipal vehicles impacted by a theft of catalytic converters. Repairs to the bus were recently completed.
