Ministry Message

Signing In A Choir

"Singing in a choir is an absolutely unique experience. It is one of the most important things in the world. Where else do you have everyone doing the same thing, at the same time, without the use of special equipment, and for a greater purpose?..." - Ian Loeppky

I grew up in a singing family. So much so, we had a rule that there was "no singing at the dinner table." We sing grace at every family meal. We have our own "Phelps" version of Happy Birthday. We would sing together in church every Christmas Eve when we were all at the same church. Even though we have our own families and paths, singing together is still important, and I cherish it whenever we come together.

When I started at Grace, knowing my Dad was just up the road at Lord of Life, I brought the idea to him about combining choirs for this Advent Cantata. Both churches have dedicated groups of singers but think of what we could do together! He was all in, and we ran with it. Once we saw the joy and memories it created for so many, we knew it would be a tradition. This year marks our third time combining choirs, welcoming members from Cross of Hope again this year!

Music can have such an impact on us, and as we enter into this season of Advent, of waiting, of hope, may we hear the good news and Joyful Noise that is this wonderful gift, Jesus. We welcome all to join us this Sunday December 10th at Grace, 8:45am and 10:30am as we present "The Jesus Gift" by Tom Fettke. We will also be presenting it on Sunday December 17th at Lord of Life in the afternoon at 3:00pm.

Musically,

Sand Creek Partnership

The holiday season is a great time to reflect on what we’re thankful for, and we’re thankful for YOU! Because of you, we were able to donate a truckload of school supplies for students and staff to use this school year. Because of you, Health Services has a supply of clean pants and underwear for students who have an accident during school or find a mud puddle at recess. Because of you, snacks are available for kids who don’t have the resources to provide one of their own. Because of you, ten families received a turkey dinner with all the fixings for Thanksgiving. Thank you for your continued support of Sand Creek Elementary, and for helping meet the needs of Sand Creek students so they can focus on learning. - The Sand Creek Faith Partnership Team

On Sunday, December 3rd, we were blessed to have Ann Hill and the team for Grace 4 Rakai giving us an update about all of the ways Grace has cared for and blessed the people in Rakai through our partner in ministry.

The video shared by Richard, unfortunately, didn’t work at the first service and so we wanted to pass on his words of gratitude to you all. Click HERE to see the video.

If anyone has a question about sponsorship or the specific sponsorship of their child, please feel free to contact Scott Christensen, G4R sponsorship coordinator at scottc@graceandover.org or on cell at 612-247-3599.

Noisy Offering

Noisy Offerings in December will be going to the McCallum family of 6 children whose parents both died. (Michelle Busitzky’s sister’s children) The dad died 3 years ago from ALS. The Mom died in November from Leukemia. Funds will be given to this family to support the kids.

We are grateful for a year of blessings and a year of serving in God's name. Thank you for the ways you have supported the ministries of Grace through your time, talents and resources. We hope that you will join us in giving thanks and consider including Grace in your year-end-giving. It is through your financial gifts so much of what we do is possible. Thank your for sharing in the joy and promise of our Savior born into and for the world, giving hope, peace, and inviting us to be grateful for all God has done.
