Keeping Moreno Valley SAFER, One Smoke Alarm at a Time
In our latest edition of the Mayor's Minute, Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez invites you to take part in the City's new SAFER program.

SAFER, which stands for Smoke Alarms & Fire Education Resources, gives out one free smoke alarm and one free carbon monoxide alarm to Moreno Valley households in need. If you recently bought an alarm, the City can give you a rebate of up to $50 if you show proof of purchase.

All you have to do is stop by City Hall during business hours and pick up your Fire Safety Starter Pack.

The alarms and rebates in the SAFER program have been made possible through generous donations from local businesses across Moreno Valley. Pick up your free smoke alarm today!

Serve Your Community by Joining a Moreno Valley Board or Commission
A City's strength comes from its volunteers, and Moreno Valley thrives when residents step up to serve their community.

One of the most direct ways to volunteer is to be a part of a board or a commission. We currently have openings on our Library, Utilites, Arts, and Traffic Safety Commissions, and we're always looking for new perspectives and ideas.

All you need to qualify is to be a registered voter over 18 years old, a resident of Moreno Valley, and have a passion for doing good in your community.

Apply today at moval.org/serve.
Pet of the Week: Rosie
Our Pet of the Week is Rosie, an incredibly sweet six-year-old Terrier Mix. Rosie has a big heart, and would love nothing more than to give you affection and companionship. Once you show Rosie the love she deserves, she will become your new lifelong friend.

If you would like to make Rosie or any pet from the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter part of your family, please contact the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter at 951.413.3790 or visit moval.org/pets.
