Reserve tax credits for funding students in 2022!
Do you want your state income tax dollars to directly fund K-12 students in Arkansas?

Here's your chance: The Reform Alliance (TRA) is accepting donations for the new Philanthropic Investment in Arkansas Kids program.

Individual or businesses that pay income taxes in Arkansas can claim a state tax credit for up to 100% of their annual income tax liability by donating to scholarship granting organizations, like TRA.

The donations will fund scholarships for K-12 students to attend qualified private schools. Every student learns differently, and some students need a different learning environment than what is available at their assigned public schools. They may need a smaller classroom size, specialized learning methods or a safe haven to escape bullying. In addition, research has shown that traditional public schools tend to improve when faced with competition from these kinds of choice programs. So, one donation could help improve the educational experience for not only the students in the program, but also students in public schools throughout the state!

National School Choice Week celebrations
The Reform Alliance hit the road last week to deliver School Choice Week gear and snacks to 13 schools throughout the state. We also invited communities to get creative together at community art night events in Little Rock and Pine Bluff.

In addition, we partnered with representatives from the Little Rock Air Force Base School Liaison program and the Arkansas Council for Military Children to provide resources and information to students from military families. If you missed it, you can still watch it by clicking on the video to the right!
Education News and Headlines
Charter School makes friends in Pine Bluff
"This school will bring more light, more energy to downtown Pine Bluff, but its impact will be far greater than that, because this project is giving parents more educational options, and our parents must have those options," Mayor Shirley Washington said Tuesday.
School choice empowers parents, students
"In no other system in this country do we tell citizens that they must shop, bank, or worship at a designated place because of their ZIP code. So why would we require that with a child's education?"
Faces of Freedom
These are the voices of Arkansas families who have benefited from Arkansas’s Succeed Scholarship Program:

"The Succeed Scholarship is a true blessing to my son Cal. He is a 16 year old young man who has been in two public school districts for his entire school life. Before coming to school at Easterseals Academy at Riverdale, he was always in a self contained classroom with mostly discipline problems. We would ABSOLUTELY LOVE “the right to a free, high-quality public school education.” But here in the Delta (Brinkley), that was never offered to us. I drive an hour and fifteen minutes every morning to take him to the Academy where I know without a doubt that he’s getting a high-quality education and he’s SAFE. Please Gov. Hutchinson, don’t defund the Succeed Scholarship." – Lain, parent
The Reform Alliance is proud to manage the Succeed Scholarship at no cost to the State of Arkansas. Even small expenses like the cost of mailing checks to schools are paid for by a private foundation grant.
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every K-12 student in Arkansas has equal access to a world class education. Our mission is to create a network of parent and community leaders so every policy decision and every conversation about education starts and ends with how it impacts our kids.
