SCHOLAR-IN-RESIDENCE
RABBI ARTSON VISITS TBT THIS WEEKEND
11/18-11/20

Rabbi Dr. Bradley Shavit Artson is the Vice President of American Jewish University. Rabbi Artson is a published author of ten books and dozens of articles on Jewish subjects and has long been a passionate advocate for social justice, human dignity, diversity, and inclusion. Get ready to spend the weekend learning from one of North America's leading Jewish figures.

Friday, November 18 - Kabbalat Shabbat Service, 6:15 pm
On this Shabbat, Rabbi Artson will deliver the sermon on the topic of "Almighty? No Way! Embracing the God You Actually Love (an Introduction to Process Theology)."

Saturday, November 19 - Shabbat Text Study: "Mystical Tripping: the Aleinu and Kabbalah"
9:30am - 10:30am
Religious School parents, congregants, and visitors are invited to a special text study with Rabbi Artson. At the end of every service, Jewish prayer books conclude with Aleinu. But did you know that this ancient prayer hints at Rabbi Akiva, a talmudic sage from two thousand years ago, who claimed that he was part of a heavenly service led by a female angel? What can modern people mean when we tap into the metaphor of an angelic worship circle? Are we also angels for each other?

Sunday, November 20 - Brunch 'n' Learn
10am - 12pm
Don't miss this final opportunity to learn with Rabbi Artson. He will lead a discussion on "Life's Purpose (from the Zohar)." This event is free but please help us plan by Registering here.
